I'm willing to rate this 5/5 even though the books were painful to read at times as they contained too much description of the nature, while exciting parts, such as battle of Helm's deep, took up 1.5 pages. However, the world Tolkien created is so detailed, consistent and interesting that I am willing to completely forget that the focus of the narration is not where I'd like it to be. Now let us sing a song. 5/5
