On the topic of sci-fi’s I really like books written by scientists turned writers because I find the world building to be much more compelling, interesting and logically consistent. Recently I enjoyed [this]. Especially Understand and Story of Your Life.

A very enjoyable collection of sci-fi-esque short stories. I'd rank them as Understand > Story of Your Life >> Liking What You See > Division by Zero > Tower of Babylon > Seventy-Two Letters > Hell is the Absence of God. In particular, you'll notice that the story I enjoyed the most by far (Understand) is least awards-distinguished, and the story I liked least (Hell is the Absence of God) has the most awards. What's up with that. 5/5
