Afterwards I read In the Buddha's Words: An Anthology of Discourses from the Pali Canon. This book is amazing.[...] I was super fascinated by this book. This is just a very selected part of it. I don't want to get into all of it. If you're interested in Buddhist teaching, this is a great book to start off with.

The second book is in "In the Buddha's words". I've talked about this book so much because it's an incredible book. I hate using the word Awakening, for lack of a better one that's all I'm going to use because it really was an Awakening experience for me to read this book.

This idea of wanting sensual pleasures, receiving them, suffering in between and then receiving it not feeling satisfied feels like a sort of pessimistic view of existence. That doesn't seem very fun to me at least. Buddhism does teach you how to overcome it. (book shown on screen)

The first book I know you have never ever heard of this thing Buddhism, what is that? Thanks Ryan! The anthology of the Pali Canon. If you want to read Buddhism go ahead! Here you, go read it! Knock yourself out! I see you in a couple years. But thanks to the Buddha's words a summary you can get to all of the good bits and skip all of the repetition.

On Felix's bookshelf.
I think a lot of people can benefit from Buddhism, not from a religious standpoint but just if you embrace buddhism as a philosophy there's so much to learn, especially for me, I think with the ideas around self-control and why you shouldn't indulge in self-destructive behaviour. It's something that I've really benefitted from and it's something that I never really was taught so I am really glad I read this book ['In The Buddha's Words']. I picked it up on a complete whim.
